I had high hopes for this place after my parents raved about the owner's last restaurant, The Lazy Greek. We ordered the moussaka, lamb gyro, and pastitsio. Unfortunately, the moussaka tasted reheated, especially the bechamel sauce which was rather gummy. The lamb too tasted so so. I've had many street gyros that beat this one by miles for half the price ($10 for just the lamb wrap, nothing else on the side). Apparently, the prices have been maintained from the chef's last venture, The Lazy Greek, but the quality has gone downhill.

My wife and I wewe excited to find a new Greek restaurant close to our home. Our first time turned out to be a disaster. We have had octapus in Greece, Spain, Italy and many South American countries. Greek Grille octapus that I ordered was so tough that I could not eat it. The quantity was very small and the price of $16.00 plus was way too high. My wifes Gyro was overcooked on the grill. People were great with a great attitude and asked us if we vwere satisfied. We are not the type of people that like to complain in public so we paid our bill and left never to return. I hope that the owner pays attention to the quality of what comes off the grill and grow the business. North Port needs good restraunts. Poor quality and high prices is a formula to a loosing business. We wish you the best!

If you know the Port Charlotte area (and most of Southwest Florida for that matter), you know that finding a decent restaurant is like finding a needle in a haystack. Well, Greek Grille is NOT a decent restaurant, it is a GREAT restaurant! When we choose a restaurant, our first priority is always food quality, second priority is price, and third is ambiance. GG rates among the best in SW Florida for good food. Prices are reasonable, and ambiance is kind of a fusion between Greek cafe, olive oil store, and tacky art show. However, the quality of the staff is quite good and the owner is an outstanding conversationalist. Compared to Greek food in the US, you will find Greek Grille quite a lot different. Most US Greek food is Athenian style (Southern Greece), while GG is Thessaloniki style (Northeast, close to Macedonia). Some dishes (such as moussaka) are a bit more spicy, the egg lemon soup (sometimes refereed to as chicken with rice) is thick and wonderful, the egg lemon sauce is a bit more thin, and the baklava has more phyllo dough, less nuts, and a thick honey instead of watery. There are also some dishes more common to Thessaloniki that you usually don't find in other US Greek restaurants. There is also entertainment of sorts. The owner has a most incredible knowledge of Near Eastern history ranging from the current day back several thousand years (and much, much more), so if you enjoy learning about history, go there when it is not too busy. His style is humorous and entertaining. If you are not a student of history (or philosophy or religion or...), and are just curious about anything Greek, just ask. We visit the North Port area several times a year and always look forward to the Greek Grille as a special treat.

Fair at best. Gyro platter had a good amount of meat, but it was dry. One pita, a 2oz cup of Taziki and a nice little Greek salad. A bit pricy at $11.75. A second pita was an extra $1.00 :-( Lamb wrap was awful and should have been sent back. Looked like untrimmed leg of lamb was used; VERY grisly and it was old, almost to the point of being soured. The Greek specialties we saw other diners eating looked fair and those I spoke with gave mixed reviews. Portions are on the smaller side, but considering the older clientele, they were proper... Just a bit pricey. The house red wine was undrinkable, a glass of no name Cab was $9.00. The good part was the servers let you taste the wines before pouring the glass, a very good practice. Service was very friendly and efficient, it was getting full on a Saturday night and they handled it well. The problem that I saw was that the owner(?) would not let them use the register or make change, and unfortunately he was in his office the whole time we were there an only came out when the checks stacked up, slowed down the turn of your tables buddy, and made you look lazy and cheap. Have you ever heard of server banking?

Not fresh at all. Pitas aren't made at the restaurant - what's that about at a Greek restaurant? Food was dry. Definitely wouldn't go back

This place is Great! and I've only had it as delivery from Gowaiter, since I didn't find it on Gowaiter anymore I looked for the address and plan on going tomorrow. It's the BEST Greek I've ever had. There isn't anything to compare, I had good Greek in Philly and didn't expect to find it here but this place is much better.

We just went back to explore the new expanded menu and it was great. We had 4 different dips for the peta bread for apps and tried the new grilled plate to share and it was huge. It can feed 5-6 people with steak, pork chops and cabobs. A great option if you have a group that wants to try many meats. Add a vegetable plate and your good to go. The wine selection was great as well. We will be going back for sure.

Great meals tonight ! We've been here before and it was just ok. However, tonight it was excellent. We had a gyro and the gyro platter. The meat was moist and flavorful. Others had an assortment of meals and all were pleased with their dishes. Good assortment of Greek beer and the house wine was fine.

Went tonight with my family. My first surprise was that yes, there was a lot of meat with the gyro x2 platter, but I still don't understand how it can called a gyro when you cut the pita that you serve it with, into tiny wedges. I liked the smoothie but found its consistency to be more on the fluid side. I felt the server, Matt, was snippy, inattentive, and brusque. He was very busy, handling what seemed like the whole restaurant, alone. I also found the final bill to be on the pricey side for North Port. I like Dino and Teri, the owners, as does my wife. They are friendly hardworking people and it is great that they have been successful in North Port. The cluttered grocery shelves at the restaurant counter didn't work in Venice and seems equally awkward in North Port.

Very disappointed! The service was very slow. Took 40 minutes after our order was taken before we were served. I ordered a lamb wrap. The lamb was full of grizzle. When I talked with the manager/owner, he stated I should have ordered the lamb skewer instead of the wrap if I didn't want the grizzle and should do so the next time I come in. No apologies, no discount for a bad meal, tough luck attitude. Next time I come in?! I don't think so! Don't waste your time or money.

If Greek food made from scratch is your thing... This is your place. We have had dinner several times and never disappointed. Today was our first lunch here. One Moussaka and one Pastichio. Both were excellent. My Pastichio had a nice hint of cinnimon . My wife's comment was how rare it is to "taste" the quality of well prepared food.

Food is very good, especially since there really isn't any other Greek to be had in the area.
